    System Overview This chapter will serve as a brief introduction to the RMX 1000 system and its major functions and features. The subsequent chapters provide more details to attend, manage, and monitor conferences through the RMX 1000 system, and on maintaining the device.

    • Reserve a Conference (using SE 200, or internally with optional with keycode) – The reserved conference is stored on the SE 200 (or RMX 1000, if using internal scheduling) and occupies resources only for its specified timeframe. The system automatically initiates and terminates the conference according to the reservation start and end times.

    ― Mount the RMX 1000 in the rack: Install rack brackets, supplied by the rack manufacturer, in the rack. Mount the RMX 1000 on top of the rack brackets. Fasten the RMX 1000 to the rack with screws.

    Before using the RMX 1000, you need to register and activate the device. Follow the procedure below to obtain the product activation key. When you power on and log in to the RMX 1000 for the first time, the system displays the Product Activation dialog box, requesting you to enter a Product Activation Key.

    Connect your PC to the LAN1 port (the LAN1 port is enabled by default) of the RMX 1000 with a cross-over network cable, or connect your PC and RMX 1000 to the same switch in the LAN. Turn on the power switch at the RMX 1000.

    All conferences will be created on the basis of conference profiles. By saving conference profiles on the RMX 1000, users can conveniently and rapidly schedule new conferences without performing repeated configurations.

    Quality, the conference skin cannot be set through this interface. Conference Recording The RMX 1000 can work with the Polycom RSS 2000 recording server to record conferences. Click the Recording tab on the New Profile interface to enter the related information and set the recording parameters.

    Conference Profile. The RMX 1000 can support up to 1000 meeting rooms. To set a meeting room, click Meeting Room in the RMX Management pane. The list pane shows the meeting rooms saved on the RMX 1000 and their summaries, such as the meeting room name, conference ID, conference duration, conference password, chairperson password, and conference profile.

    RMX 1000 includes a Call Detail Record (CDR) utility, which enables you to view summary information about conferences, as well as to retrieve full conference information and archive it to a file. The file can be used to produce reports or can be exported to external billing programs.

    Chapter 13 — • Formatted text – Formatted CDR files use the suffix .txt. Different from the unformatted CDR, the field value of each data in the formatted CDR file matches its property name one by one, as shown below. This data can be used to generate a summary report for a conference.

Основные настройки

Перед установкой RMX 2000 и выполнением базовой настройки прочтите Руководство по оборудованию RealPresence Collaboration Server (RMX) 2000, где содержится описание нормативных требований, общие меры предосторожности, инструкции по распаковке и установке в стойку. Если в комплект поставки вашей системы входит карта RTM ISDN, рекомендуется установить ее перед установкой RMX в стойку. Инструкции по установке см. в Руководстве по началу работы с RealPresence Collaboration Server RMX 1800/2000/4000.

Начальная конфигурация системы

В этом разделе описывается определение сетевой службы H.323, установка времени RMX, изменение пользователя-администратора по умолчанию и установка основных системных флагов. Подробное описание определений сетевой службы H.323, SIP и ISDN при первой установке и настройке. IPv4 является протоколом по умолчанию для настройки сетевой службы в мастере быстрой настройки. В Мастере быстрой настройки выберите Далее, чтобы перейти от одного окна к другому.

На главном экране индикатор состояния MCU отображает время, оставшееся до завершения запуска системы. После замены пользователя RMX по умолчанию и установки времени RMX и отсутствия системных ошибок зеленый светодиод RDY на передней панели RMX включается, а красный светодиод ERR гаснет.

Подключение к конференции напрямую или через очередь на вход

RealPresence Collaboration Server RMX поставляется с предварительно настроенными объектами конференц-связи CP (AVC) по умолчанию, которые можно использовать для подключения и начала конференций. Идентификатор очереди на вход по умолчанию: 1000, идентификаторы конференц-зала по умолчанию: 1001, 1002, 1003 и 1004.

Участники H.323

Наберите: [префикс MCU в гейткипере] [идентификатор/имя конференции или очереди на вход]. Для бывшегоample, если префикс MCU в привратнике равен 925, введите 925 или 9251000 для подключения к эквалайзеру или 9251001/2/3/4 для прямого подключения к конференции. При подключении к эквалайзеру введите идентификатор конференц-зала назначения (например, 1001, 1002, 1003 или 1004). В качестве альтернативы используйте имя эквалайзера или конференции. Для бывшегоample, если название конференции Maple Room, участник может набрать: 925Maple Room.

SIP-участники

Наберите: conference_routing_name@domain_name. Имя маршрутизации конференции должно быть зарегистрировано на SIP-сервере. Для бывшегоample введите 1001@polycom.com, если имя маршрутизации конференции — 1001, а имя домена — polycom.com.

Участники ISDN и PSTN

Наберите один из номеров, назначенных для конференции, конференц-зала или очереди на вход, с требуемым кодом страны и региона. При подключении к эквалайзеру вы направляетесь на конференцию в соответствии с введенным идентификатором целевой конференции. Для бывшегоample, если назначенный номер набора 4045555, они набирают этот номер с соответствующим кодом города для example, 678 и код страны 001.

Добрый день, коллеги.

Наконец пришло время выполнить обещание и рассказать, чем все это продолжилось и закончилось. Приношу извинения, что так задержалась.

Будет 2 части:

  • RMX1500
  • CMA4000

Текст ниже будет содержать много букв и может вызвать неверную оценку моего отношения к данному решению. В заключении я раскрою момент, что к Polycom я отношусь ровно и хорошо, просто их продукты не для всех. Итак, картинка для описания ситуации:

Предисловие

Итак, напомню. В 2013 году была опубликована статья про подводные камни хардварных кодеков Polycom. Внедрение же в принципе началось в 2011 и к 2013 году мы имели 10 таких устройств по всей России. Встал следующий вопрос: как организовать многоточечные конференции? В теории 1 имеющийся HDX 7000 с определенной лицензией (а у нас она была) мог объединять до 4х точек, а два — до 8 точек (вспоминается шутка про маркер и два маркера), но было не совсем понятно, что делать с пользователями с ноутбуками и как реализовывать мосты не перегружая каналы связи).

Начинаем творить добро

Итак, в 2013 мы созрели до приобретения RMX1500 c 45 лицензиями. Почему так много? У поликома все хитро :-)

  • 1 лицензия != 1 участник
  • 1 лицензия = 1 поток определенной ширины.
  • Голос = 1 поток.
  • Видео с SD качеством = 1,5 потока или лицензии
  • HD = 3 лицензии.

Т.е. итого 45 лицензий позволяло нам объединять до 15 переговорных комнат (в одной или разных комнатах). А так же мы могли подключаться к другому (внешнему RMX) и объединять хоть 30 пользователей используя фирменную технологию каскадирования.

Пришлось сходить на обучение, так как осилить почти 1000 страниц пособия администратора было явно дольше. Так же лапочки из Polycom сделали все, чтобы администратору было удобно:

  • Отличный и понятный интерфейс
  • Логичное размещение пунктов настроек
  • Абсолютно безопасное изменение табличных настроек
  • Моментальный доступ к подробным логам
  • Понятная потребность аж в 4х сетевых портах (разумеется все подписано)
  • Хорошее оглавление в мануале позволяющее за 3 минуты найти ответ на любой вопрос
  • Веб интерфейс работает под всеми современными браузерами

В общем все понятно. Скажу, что в 2013 уже тяжело было найти Internet Explorer 8…

Немного о лени

На обучении подробно все рассказали и описали сценарии, интегратор выполнил свою задачу. Но проблема в том, что сценарии судов, МЧС и банков не совсем подходят юной и быстро выросшей организации, которой «надо вчера и почему не готово».

Поскольку я не отличаюсь любовью к непрерывной поддержке, то сделала то, от чего пришли в ужас классические интеграторы. Я просто создала 30 комнат на любой вкус и цвет — с разными макетами, количеством участников и качеством, распечатала их бизнесу в переговорные комнаты, забила в каталоги всех HDX, вывела в быстрый набор. (к слову сказать, наши сотрудники осилили это… а вот набрать *59# чтобы запретить вход посторонним — оказалось существенно сложнее).

Кроме того, было сделано:

  • перевод на русский всех IVR (о да, вендор не готов их предоставить) там еще и оказалось, не соврать бы — mono 8bit wav
  • замена приветственных страниц
  • документация: администраторам, сервисными специалистам, пользователям (на 1 лист с картинками)
  • Бэкап полной конфигурации
  • Договор на поддержку и обновления на 3 года

Все собрано в папочку и благополучно передано эксплуатации

Итоги

Polycom RMX1500 пережил:

  • ВКС с одним большим банком (было так мило, когда администратор видеоконференц-связи этого банка, услышав мой голос, сказал «я просил соединить меня с техническим специалистом».В итоге все получилось, но пришлось выравнивать MTU — т.к. не проходил контент (рабочий стол)
  • 2 переезда датацентра (в том числе и междугородних зимой)
  • Отвалившуюся видеокарту и полный сброс (в 2016. Самое смешное, что помог бэкап 2012 года)
  • Переполненный лог
  • 4 администраторов аппаратного обеспечения и службу эксплуатации (поменялась оргструктура)
  • 3 смены адресации

За 6 лет мы внесли только 1 изменение — добавили подключение к CMA4000, которое нам аукнулось в 2019, но об этом я расскажу в части 2.

P.S.

Polycom имеет очень хорошую линейку железа и ПО для него. У них отличная поддержка, хорошие партнеры. Оборудование сверх-стабильно и отказоустойчиво. Все замечательно. Вопрос: сколько вы готовы за это заплатить и нужен ли вам такой уровень? Если вы банк, юридическая организация, аварийный центр, инфраструктурная компания, несущая ответственность за безопасность (железные дороги, атомные станции) — то да, обязательно рассматривайте. Если вы еще молоды, не планируете на 5-10 лет вперед, не знаете как будет развиваться бизнес, то лучше вовремя остановитесь, ограничившись HDX и облачным решением.

Это мое личное мнение, основанное на позиционировании Polycom в отрасли и моем опыте работы в молодой компании.
