В середине XIX столетия сшить вещь на заказ или отремонтировать ее было не всем по карману, поскольку услуги портных стоили дорого. К счастью, появилась ножная швейная машинка, которая облегчила жизнь многим хозяйкам. Со временем она стала усовершенствоваться, что помогло создавать настоящие шедевры.
История
Ножная швейная машинка имеет не так много функций и строчек, чтобы использовать ее в специальных ателье. Но для работы в домашних условиях такая машинка была лучшим вариантом. Работая с ножным приводом, руки оставались свободными, что позволяло ускорить процесс шитья и улучшить качество изделия.
Известно, что создателем данной модели стал Исаак Зингер. Именно он сделал так, чтобы портные смогли двигать ткань в разных направлениях и создавать необычные швы. С появлением ножного привода швы стали получаться длиннее, что ускоряло работу.
А также было известно, что до Зингера были и другие создатели швейных машинок с приводом ножного действия, но они так и не попали в историю. Дело в том, что для официального одобрения изготовления машинок необходимо было оплатить патент, чего предшественники Исаака не сделали и стали сторонниками создания новых моделей.
Разработчик машинки сделал так, чтобы игла двигалась вертикально, а не горизонтально, как это было в предыдущих моделях. Затем он усовершенствовал устройство специальной лапкой, которую удерживало зубчатое колесо. За счет этих механизмов ткань была зафиксирована и свободно двигалась в том направлении, в котором ее направят портные.
Через 3 года после создания первой своей модели Зингер основал свою компанию, где уже создавались усовершенствованные модели, с помощью которых можно было выполнять сложные швы и делать это намного быстрее. Со временем машинки стали продавать в рассрочку, это делалось для того, чтобы их смогли себе позволить не только богатые, но и простые люди. Именно поэтому фирма обрела огромную популярность, и уже через несколько лет после открытия первой фабрики появились и другие, причем в разных странах.
Стоит отметить, что Исаак постарался на славу: ведь первая механическая швейная машинка с ножным приводом появилась еще в середине XIX столетия, а некоторые модели работают до сих пор.
Инструкция по эксплуатации
У многих хозяек остались ножные швейные машинки, но не всем известна ее инструкция по применению.
- Для начала стоит достать саму машинку, которая встроена в стол-шкаф. Для этого поднимается передний клапан, вытаскивается головка машины, а чтобы она была устойчивой, клапан опускается.
- Там имеется обод пускового колеса, который идет вместе с желобом. На него надевается круглый ремень, соединяющий шкив махового колеса с пусковым. За счет этого и происходит вращение.
- В процессе работы постоянно следует нажимать на ножные педали, за счет которых происходит колебательное движение. Таким образом начинает вращаться шатун и кривошип, они, в свою очередь, задействуют пусковое колесо.
- Чтобы заправить нитку, необходимо ее перемотать с катушки на шпульку. Для этого катушка устанавливается на верхний штырь машинки. Далее следует продеть верхнюю нить, заправить и вытянуть нижнюю нить. В завершение верхнюю и нижнюю нитки нужно завести за лапку.
Работая за такой машинкой, стоит соблюдать правила техники безопасности.
- Постоянно следить за движением рук и ног. Если движения будут несинхронными, то можно испортить материал.
- После завершения работы ремень необходимо снимать с помощью специальной отводки, и надевать его можно только перед началом шитья. В процессе работы придерживать его нельзя, чтобы не получить травму.
- Заправляя нитку в иголку, следует следить за ногами – они не должны находиться на педали.
Если соблюдать все правила безопасности, то готовую вещь можно сшить за короткое время.
Новичку первое время будет довольно сложно работать на швейной машине с приводом ножного действия. Поэтому чтобы научиться контролировать движение рук и ног, для начала стоит этому научиться вхолостую, то есть просто отрабатывать движения педалей.
Ремонт
Ножная швейная машина довольно громоздкая, и в случае поломки ее неудобно тащить в мастерскую. Поэтому те, кто еще пользуется данной моделью, должен знать, как отремонтировать ее в домашних условиях.
- Откручивание винтов. Первым делом понадобится ослабить контргайки – подойдет рожковый ключ. Далее обычной отверткой можно приступать к откручиванию винтов. Если ремонт давно не производился, то без 6-гранного ключа не обойтись, так как винты, скорее всего, хорошо прикипели к станине из-за масла и пыли. Следующим делом следует тщательно очистить конусную плоскость винта, смазать маслом и поставить на место.
- Регулировка узлов. Чтобы избавиться от стука, который исходит от ножного привода, необходимо плотно зажать конус. Сильно затягивать нельзя, поскольку проблема может появиться снова. Если после зажатия конуса стук не пропал, возможно, он исходит от другого узла, находящегося в центре махового колеса, где крепится ремень. Разбирать этот узел следует аккуратно, поскольку на этом шарнире находится подшипник. Если он целый, то нужно просто смазать его специальной смазкой, отрегулировав зазор. В противном случае подшипник придется сменить на новый.
- Замена приводного ремня. За долгие годы эксплуатации ремень изнашивается, поэтому довольно часто рвется. Настоящий ремень изготавливается из сыромятной кожи, но заменить его можно обычной бельевой веревкой или кожаным ремнем. Если не хочется возиться, то ремень для ножного привода всегда можно купить в специальном магазине. Если ремень порвался, а вещь не дошита, то его можно скрепить канцелярской скрепкой.
На самом деле все очень просто, поэтому при какой-либо поломке всегда можно справиться самостоятельно.
Разновидности
Существует несколько известных моделей швейных машин с ножным приводом.
Singer
Эти антикварные модели были первыми, где был применен ножной привод. Говорят, что для их изготовления использовались драгоценные металлы. Кстати, если у кого-то сохранились такие экземпляры, то можно проверить, настоящий ли там металл. Для этого необходимо поднести магнит к металлическому каркасу. Если магнит не прилип, то там, действительно, содержится драгоценный металл (золото, серебро или палладий). Стоимость швейных машин Singer высокая, но многие их приобретают для дополнения ретростиля.
Советские машинки с тумбой
В СССР изготовляли различные варианты машинок с приводом ножного действия. Такая модель удобна тем, что в комнате она может пригодиться как обычный стол. А если необходимо что-то пошить, то тумба легко раскладывается. А также в нее можно сложить все необходимое для шитья.
Кстати, ножная машина с тумбой справляется с различными видами ткани (лен, шерсть, синтетика, шелк) и выполняет 2 вида строчек – прямую и зигзагообразную.
Швейная машинка марки «Чайка». Она выполняла только прямые и зигзагообразные строчки. Большой популярностью она не пользовалась, поскольку были свои недостатки – отсутствие специального рычага обратного хода.
Известная советская модель «Подольск» была любимицей многих швей. Помимо прямой и зигзагообразной строчек, можно было выполнять декоративные строчки.
«Орша»
Особенностью моделей «Орша» являлась централизованная смазка и полуавтоматическая намотка нитки на шпульку.
Butterfly
Эта модель китайского производства, но приобрести ее можно было в любом городе СССР. Эта китайская машинка выглядела в виде столика с двумя выдвижными ящиками. Она была полным аналогом первой машинки Singer.
На сегодняшний день швейные машинки с ножным приводом можно приобрести только в антикварных магазинах или у кого-то на дому в б/у состоянии. Но, несмотря на то что модели швейных машинок с каждым годом усовершенствуются, на механических машинках тоже можно выполнять сложные строчки. Главное, уметь правильно нажимать на педали и контролировать движение рук и ног.

Давайте, если у кого есть о них впечатления и/или интерес, рассмотрим такие машинки.
Всё таки, хотя у нас в стране их не очень много, но встречаются.
Давно всё хотел рассмотреть поближе.
(Баттерфляй-Бабочка), Butterfly — у нас, наверное, наиболее часто встречалась.
Показалась очень добротно и аккуратно сделаной.
Наиболее близка, наверное, к Госшвеймашине. Ну и к Зингеру 15К.
Особенно умилили крышечки с узорами и бабочками.

Что интересно, похоже крышки-колпака у неё не было изначально, на поддоне нет даже металлических мест для зацепления-установки крышки.

Рисунки частично повторяют орнаменты Зингера «Сфинкс», особенно внизу, по краю платформы и сзади, фирменная зингеровская «сфинксовская» змейка под круглой крышкой-лючком.
Интересно, что рисунок уже не золотистый, а скорее желтый. Но достаточно яркий (несмотря на не менее чем 50 лет!), красиво смотрится за счёт более явственно изображенных как бы теней.
