Introduction In order for your Relate 700 Caller Display to receive and display messages, you must subscribe to the BT Caller Display Service.

Your Relate 700 Caller Display has been designed for ease of use and made to the very high standards set by BT.
We thank you for making the right choice and expect that you will have many years of quality service.
Please read the instructions carefully before use and keep this user guide for future reference.

For warranty purposes, proof of purchase is required, so please keep your receipt.
Emergency calls
The emergency services can be contacted in the UK by dialling 999. You may also dial 112, which is valid in any country that is a member of the European Community.
If your Relate 700 Caller Display is connected to a PBX (switchboard), you may have to dial an access number before 999 to contact the emergency services.
Some switchboards cannot dial out during a power failure.

Setting up Follow these steps to get your Relate 700 Caller Display ready for use
Check that your Relate 700 Caller Display is complete. When you unpack, you should have:
•Relate 700 Caller Display telephone with telephone line cord attached.
•Bracket for wall mounting
•2 screws and wallplugs
1 Plan where to situate your Relate 700 Caller Display
Situate your Relate 700 Caller Display close enough to a telephone socket so that telephone line cord will reach.
Do not stand it on carpets or other similar surfaces that generate fibres.
Your Relate 700 Caller Display can be wall-mounted. For more details on how to wall-mount your Relate 700, see ‘Wallmounting’ on page 20.

3 Plug your Relate 700 Caller Display into the BT socket
To fit batteries
Your Relate 700 Caller Display takes 4 x AA batteries (not supplied).

1Turn the phone over and remove the battery cover.
2Slide each battery into the compartment, as shown above. Take care to insert each battery the right way round.
3Replace the battery cover.
